What UCAL Does
Support, Culture and Opportunities for Our Community
What We Do
Our work responds to the practical, social and cultural needs of Ugandans in Liverpool. We create welcoming spaces to connect, network, learn, celebrate heritage and find the right next step.
01.
— Newcomer Support & Integration
UCAL offers a welcoming community connection for new arrivals, helping people understand local opportunities and find appropriate services when specialist support is needed.
02.
— Culture & Heritage
We create opportunities to celebrate Ugandan heritage through community events, stories, food, music and intergenerational cultural exchange.
03.
— Families & Young People
Our community activities help families and younger generations build relationships, confidence and a positive connection with their roots /heritage and wider Liverpool life.
04.
— Health & Wellbeing
We host accessible events and community activities that reduce isolation, encourage informed choices, connection, thus improving members and community health and wellbeing.
05.
— Learning & Growth Opportunities
UCAL helps people connect with learning, skills, employability and enterprise opportunities through seminars, information and appropriate signposting.
06.
— Community Voice & Partnerships
We work with community members and local organisations to strengthen understanding, participation and more cohesive community relationships.
New to Liverpool or Unsure Where to Turn?
