UCAL is a welcoming home for Ugandans living in Liverpool and the surrounding Merseyside area. We help people build relationships, understand local opportunities, celebrate Ugandan heritage and take an active role in the wider community thus contributing to a cohesive society.

Our work brings generations of Ugandans in Liverpool together and responds to the practical, social and cultural needs that can affect people at different stages of life.

We stand as a beacon of hope and empowerment for Ugandans in Liverpool including asylum seekers, refugees, immigrants, and their allies throughout Merseyside. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and reach their maximum potential. We are more than a community group; we are connected together by culture, lived experiences and the desire to elevate and support Ugandans to integrate easier and faster into the fabric of British society. Our mission is clear and compelling: to Help Ugandans Feel Supported, Proud and Part of Liverpool Society.

UCAL is a one-stop, community group operating across Liverpool and the wider Merseyside region in the UK, to deliver culturally responsive, trauma-informed support to diasporic Ugandans.
Our co-production and partnership-based model enables us to provide locally grounded support, ensuring individuals and families can access help within our Liverpool communities and a connected UK-wide network.
